Jackson Galaxy Comfy Clamshell Bed, Medium

Lots of cat beds I get tend to just be way too small for the chunkier cats I have (sorry, boys :( ). They'll try to get in them and can never quite get comfortable. Even as a "medium" size, this bed feels enormous and it's extremely soft. It hadn't been out of the box for 5 minutes before one of my cats was at home, kneading and purring.The only negative I'd say is that because of its size, when you pull the drawstring to close it you need to sort of move some of the fabric around with your hands to make sure that the part furthest from the drawstring cinches if you only intend to cinch it up partway. I didn't want to close it fully up into the clamshell, just provide enough of a "lip" so that it can feel closed in. Super minor quibble, though. Otherwise, I really love it and as I'm typing I now hear Bernard the cat snoring behind me in it so again: cat approved!

If you don't know who he is, you should look into it!It's specifically talked about in the YouTube video titled: THE Key to Helping Your Shy or Scared Cat. This was purchased to help one of our cats who was adopted at the age of 1, who used to be a stray and is extremely shy. Jackson's technique along with his bed helped immensely; it's not a magical bed, you'll still need to put in a great deal of effort, but it certainly helps!Both our scaredy-cat and courageous kitten love the bed! Now that our not-so-scaredy-cat isn't living it, our kitten has started sleeping in it as well. It's a great bed through and through, I'd gladly pay for it again!

I bought this as a welcome bed to a new cat in our household and it was perfect. She was a special needs kitty that was coming into a house with 2 other cats so we wanted a place they could go to feel safe and comfy and that is exactly how this turned out. You could tell she loved being in it. We loved that we could loosen the string and lower the sides to make it easier for her to get in and out. We had to wash it several times, it held up fairly well but i think the instructions were to spot clean only and we threw it in the washer probably 4 times at least. There was some damage but not much

My cats did not use it although it seemed like a great idea. The product itself was good quality but obviously you can’t predict cat preference. My one cat started using it as a peeing spot so I had to eventually throw it away 😅.

I have done everything I can do in order for my cat to tolerate and use this. There is nothing I can do. For wherever reason, she thinks its voodoo, and won't even stay on it for 3 seconds. I'm not sure if it's shocking her or not. I felt like it does produce a bit of static. I've tried catnip, different locations. Tried up high and low, even in the car. In all her favorite spots, but no. Switched the fabric so the slick side is inside. Had is ruched all the way up, down all the way. Half way. Everything in between. Nothing. All she does is play with the string on it and barely try to kill the side of it. It's too expensive and bulky to stay with me as a string toy only. So I shall pass it on in hopes that a friends cat will like it.

My cats love this Clam shell cat bed. They take turns sleeping in it. I bought it for our senior cat Finney (15yo) because he has hyperthyroidism and has trouble keeping on weight. I wanted him to have a warm and cozy place to nap. When he sleeps in it I reach in and I can feel how it stays warm. I recommend this for any cat.If the cats are happy, we are happy!

This thing is great! It is bigger than I thought it would be, but that's not a bad thing. My cats actually love it down as a mat more than as a bed, surprisingly, but I really like that I have the flexibility as I move the room around, or as their preferences change. It is very easy to change between the two modes, and you can even easily choose to keep it somewhere between a full bed or full mat style. It's also very soft in the bed part, which both me and my cats enjoy. I would buy this again!

My cat is very timid and wouldn't go in it until I put it under small table, so it's more secluded. Now she sleeps in it for hours.

This is a beautiful product and very well made. My cat, however, was not so easily impressed and just sniffed and walked away. I would have given it 5 stars if the bottom had come with a grip to keep the bed from sliding on the hardwood floor.

O'Malley and Scat Cat adopted it quickly. It's a little slipery for the couch I put it on, so the all open position is better for them. They look quite secure now. I guess the few slip falls off the couch in the donut position didn't traumatise my energetic 4 months old kitties.Did quite good with one machine wash amd dry.

My cat had dental surgery and she absolutely loved this bed after, it definitely helped the healing process
